DAY 6 TRAINING RECAP |
The discovery appointment, plus cash advances |
Hey , good session. We spent the first half on the appointment itself working through the 2026 Sales Guide, and the second half on cash advances, which change what you walk in offering. Here is the short version, plus what to do before tomorrow. |
THE DISCOVERY APPOINTMENT |
Rule one: don't fire-hose. Ninety-nine percent of salespeople dump everything they know on a prospect. Your job is to find one problem and solve it. Ask questions, let the merchant talk, and treat the pitch book as a prop, not a script. |
Open every appointment the same way: "I don't want to waste your time or mine. If I can help you, I'll say so. If I can't, we shake hands and part ways. Sound fair?" |
Then work the discovery questions: their payment setup, what they like and dislike about their processor, funding speed, access to capital, and whether you are sitting with the decision-maker. Weave in three "yes" questions along the way. |
GOOD / BETTER / BEST |
Three doors, and you let the merchant pick. Present them in this order every time so the best one lands last. |
- Good. Traditional processing, at a lower rate than they have now.
- Better. Surcharge: 3% on credit only, which cuts their fees by more than half.
- Best. Dual Pricing at $64.95 per month flat, roughly $6,000 a year back in their pocket.
THE ONE OBJECTION |
"My customers won't like it." That is fear of change, not a pricing problem. Answer it with history: knuckle busters gave way to electronic terminals, merchants heard the same pushback, and customer behavior never changed. Back it with the consumer advocacy endorsement. |
Then close out the risk: "If anyone complains, call me. I'll reprogram you back to traditional that day. No penalty. Just try it." |
CASH ADVANCES |
This changes the whole conversation. Instead of "I can save you money," you get to say "I can give you capital." Lead with the cash advance flyer; it is already in your materials. |
- Merchants qualify for up to one month's processing volume.
- Repayment is automatic, a daily percentage of each batch.
- Funded in 4 to 5 days total.
- Commission runs 4 to 6 points, so $800 on a $20K advance.
- 75% re-up every six months or so, which is recurring income for you.

FOLLOW-UP |
83% of sales close at or after the fifth touchpoint, so the fifth visit is where your money is. Use the email templates in your agent portal (general, auto shop, payroll) and send one to yourself first to check how it reads. Always walk back in with a reason, never "just checking in." |

HOMEWORK |
- Start listening to the next two training courses:
- Finish your agent paperwork if it is still open. This is what unlocks your business cards, presentation book, and portal access.
- Check your inbox for the daily recaps. If they are not showing up, reach out to Emma directly.
