Dear Valued Partner,

We wanted to make you aware of some changes to our Non-Cash Adjustment Program. (This is the program where a line-item fee is added on your terminal or POS when accepting a credit card and saves you all the processing fees.)

Visa has recently made some compliance changes to all Non-Cash Adjustment Programs. As your trusted merchant services provider, we want to ensure that all of our partners are compliant with these new rules.

The Non-Cash Adjustment Program will now be called Dual Pricing.

Your customers will now see both the card price and the cash price on the terminal before making a purchase, and they can decide which option they would prefer to pay with. This will create more transparency between you and your customers, which in turn will create a better business environment for you.

There will be three changes that will take place with this new Dual Pricing program.

  1. Terminal Update - There will be an update on your terminal between April 14 and April 28. Your update will occur at the end of the business day, after your terminal is batched out and settled for the night. Once the update is complete, your terminal will then show a "CARD" price and a "CASH" price on the screen when you come in the next morning.

  1. Receipt Change - The separate line item that shows "Non-Cash Adjustment" will no longer be needed. The receipt will only show the total amount for Card or Cash.

  1. Signage - New signage will be delivered to you by your representative, or mailed from our corporate office. Until then, no signage will be needed, and we ask that you remove your current signage now.

We would also like to give you recommendations for these new updates. Since the technology is now available for Dual Pricing, there are changes your business can make to limit the questions you receive about the program. These are not required, but they are recommended:

  • List both "Card" and "Cash" prices on the menu/shelves of your products sold.
  • Be able to show your customers the "Card" and "Cash" prices at the time of sale.

How can you show both the card and cash price? This can be done in 3 different ways:

  1. Turn your terminal towards the consumer and let them choose their method of payment.
  2. Purchase a consumer-facing pin pad that connects to your current terminal.
(This will not accept pin debit cards but will allow your customers to see the prices and tap or chip their card.)
  1. Purchase a swivel stand that will readily make your terminal easy to swivel around to the customer where it can show your consumer both "card" and "cash" prices.

Please note that your contract with PCBancard does not change, your fees will not change, and you will receive your deposits as you normally receive them in your bank account.

If you have any questions or would like to purchase equipment, please feel free to reach out to your local representative, or one of our dedicated merchant support specialists at (973) 324-2251 or email us at support@pcbancard.com.

We thank you for your continued patronage.

Sincerely,
